Approach Your Life Like A Video Game.

We should be leveling up our life everyday, striving for more experience points, more XP for our efforts in the real world. If we are here to experience the earthly realm by learning to harness the power of energy, we should approach it like a video game wielding our innate abilities for the betterment of humanity, being authentically us, our true character.

Unlike a game, in real life we didn't choose to be spawned into the game, we weren't consulted on whether we even wanted to play, or what our character or avatar could look like before being loaded in. But what we can control is what skins, armour, abilities we possess, what quests we complete, and what we carry with us in our inventory to greatness.

This video below has got me excited about writing this blog post. I love games, my strong sense of nostalgia for my old PS2 games will stay with me forever, the fun my brother and I had when we were kids traveling from one end of the the earth to the other, going from house to house, accompanied by Jak & Daxter or Ratchet & Clank gave us great joy. When I make time to play them again, and I will, I can enjoy them for an allotted amount of time, but as a 25 year old, I have ambitions and I want to achieve many things, the trade off for getting those is hard work, persistence and time. Time being my most important asset, something that I can't get back, once it's gone, it's gone.

In this video below the YouTuber Joey Schweitzer who hosts the channel called Better Ideas, talks about how he made his life a video game. Let's watch the video together.

Summary

Games mainly have 4 features:

  1. Objectives
  2. Difficulty Settings
  3. Risk
  4. Rewards

Things to take away from this are:

  1. Get Clearer Objectives
  2. Reduce The Difficulty
  3. Move Through The Noise And Resistance, Absorb It's Power By Gamifying Discomfort
  4. Embrace Risk
  5. Reflect on the Rewards you will gain in the future for your Time and Effort in the Present, thus preventing you from Inaction in the here and now.

That is a pretty good framework to work around, build up those experience points and be persistent!! Go Go Go!!
